A decade in oak barrels gifts Basil Hayden 10 Year Old Bourbon with wisdom and grace. Its polished amber color hints at the elegance within: a delicate fusion of peppermint and citrus. Each sip finishes with a light touch of silk, an ode to the patience of aging.

 

Staff Rated: 90 Points

The 10 year edition of Basil Haydens is really nicely balanced between the sweet vanilla of its long time in oak and the spice of its high rye mash bill, the latter coming through with notes of banana and clove. A bit of smoky, charred wood comes through on the finish. At just 40% abv its quite enjoyable to sip, though a higher proof might have helped to make this limited release feel a little more special.
