Chateau Rollin's wines are essentially fruity and structured with a red fruit marked Merlot and a beautiful tannic richness brought by Cabernet Sauvignon. Château Rollin reveals both great finesse and a lot of power. A balance between terroir, passion and know-how.
Since the acquisition of the castle by the MARTIN family, wines have experienced a real rise in quality and notoriety, both in France and internationally. The vineyard is located on the two highest gravel rumps of the municipality (+ 36 meters above the sea), on poor and filtering soils, a privilege of the grands crus of the Médocains terroirs.
It is planted exclusively at one meter with a planting density of about 7,000 feet/ha, according to the old Médoc tradition, with a traditional cultivation method without weed killers. A selection of the grapes is carried out by a reasoned thinning of the clusters, followed by a consequent leaf stripping for optimal maturity.
Notes of blueberry, violet and, to a lesser extent, pulpy blackcurrant, combined with hints of morello cherry, ripe red berries and hints of zan/black tea. The palate is fresh, mineral, balanced and offers juiciness and expresses notes of pulpy blackcurrant, fleshy boysenberry and more slightly ripe wild red berry fruit The tannins are mellow. Good length
