From vines around 40 years old and up, on heavy clay soils with relatively little granite and quite a lot of the iron-like mineral manganese. Aromas of sweet cassis, black plums.On the palate the wine is concentrated, focused and full-bodied, with black fruit at the core, ripe tannins and a very long, complex and impeccably balanced finish.
