The 2022 Pessimist is an easy-drinking blend of 59% Petite Sirah, 20% Zinfandel, 14% Syrah and 7% Lagrein matured for 10 months in 60% new French oak. The nose is loaded with ripe berry and baked plum fruit, plus nuances of cracked pepper and mortadella. The full-bodied palate's savory fruit is complemented by pleasantly chewy tannins, and it has surprising freshness. It's perfect for barbecue.
