Escudo Rojo Chardonnay Reserva is an exquisite wine hailing from the prestigious Valle de Casablanca in Chile. This renowned region, situated 80 km northwest of Santiago and deeply influenced by the Pacific Ocean, is celebrated for producing exceptional Chardonnays. Crafted in the Bordeaux style by the legendary Baron Philippe de Rothschild, this wine exemplifies elegance and refinement.
The vineyards in the Valle de Casablanca were specifically chosen for their mild climate, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly, and their unique soil composition of silty sand and granitic elements that together contribute to the wine's freshness and elegance. As a result, the Chardonnay Reserva boasts a captivating balance of power and finesse, with an impressive harmony between alcohol and acidity.
Half of the vintage is matured for nine months in one-year-old oak barrels, with 25% in new oak and 75% in 1-2 year-old barrels, striking a delicate balance between oaky notes and the wine's inherent fruitiness. The aromatic profile of this Chardonnay Reserva is simply enchanting, with voluptuous tropical fruit and yellow peach aromas at the forefront, followed by subtle hints of gingerbread and toasted brioche.
