Hubert Lignier Description

The parcel in “Les Seuvrées” is in the southern tier of Gevrey and sits immediately beneath the Grand Cru “Mazoyeres Chambertin”. This wine, one of the most important of the domaine in terms of size, is a bit more sturdy than the Morey Saint Denis and is a real show-stopper, displaying its classic Gevrey meatiness. The vines are old: planted between 1938 and 1966.

An attractively fresh and surprisingly elegant array offers up notes of earthy dark currant, plum and a whisper of spice. There is good energy and delineation to the lighter weight flavors that exude a refreshing salinity on the delicious, moderately firm and more complex finale.
