Folatières produced a generous yield in 2022; the result is pleasant and approachable, with ripe apple fruit, floral notes and a touch of spice. It is supple and creamy, with a plump, easy-to-love texture. However, the finished wine lacks the expected concentration and depth. It should drink well young and improve with mid-term ageing, but the structure to age long term is not evident.

The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières has also turned out very nicely, mingling aromas of pear and orange oil with notions of freshly baked bread, struck match and warm stones. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and seamless, it's bright and ethereal, with a long, saline finish.

There is a whiff of the exotic to the spicy, acacia blossom, white peach and dried apricot-infused aromas. There is both better volume and mid-palate density to the caressing but punchy medium-bodied flavors that exude a hint of minerality on the clean, very dry and lingering finish where a hint of wood emerges. This is already good and is potentially excellent.
